Former pro Starcraft may become new T1 League of Legends coach

Former StarCraft II pro Choi Polt Soon Hoon may be the new head coach of the T1 League of Legends roster. Fans of the club made such conclusions, drawing attention to the correspondence of players in Discord, which was accidentally shown on his stream by support Lee Effort Sang Ho.

The correspondence discussed the acquaintance with the new coach Polt, who is not yet able to join the team, since after arriving from the United States must undergo a mandatory two-week quarantine. According to the chat, Nick LS De Cesar, the American caster of LCK’s English-language broadcast, will be the second T1 trainer-analyst for the LCK Spring 2021 season. He also communicated with the players in the team chat on Discord and asked them to send feedback on a certain video.

The community called such an unusual coaching duo very interesting. T1 fans assumed that Polt would be responsible for team spirit and discipline, while LS would concentrate on drafting and training. Polt played on the professional StarCraft II stage for several years and was considered one of the strongest Korean esports players in international tournaments. He is fluent in English and will help LS connect with the players to create the necessary team chemistry.

LS also has a wealth of coaching experience and has already worked with teams from LCK. In particular, he was a mentor for bbq Olivers for about six months. De Cesar has dual citizenship and has long lived in South Korea.

On November 1, the T1 management announced changes in the League of Legends team’s coaching staff. Mentor Lim Comet Hye Sun and analyst Gary Tolki Milaret, who have worked at the club since December 2019, have left the team.
